So what gives?!!?? You most likely may have installed Office 2007, and now, even though the spell checker in Microsoft Office 2007 is set to English, you can only spell check in French in Outlook Express. Oui?
Whatever! Anyhow, I had this happened to me before and remembered that I had to download an English dictionary.
Spell Checker for OE 2.1 is the answer. Download it here ->
Very simple install and Presto! It’s there…. Just go under ‘Tools’ -> ‘Options’ -> ‘Spell’. There you have the option of changing the default dictionary and language for spell checker.
Hope this helped!!

Finding a Layout
Step 1:
Search for MySpace layouts. Using a search engine, search for the words “free MySpace layouts.” If you want something specific in your MySpace page, add that term to your search. Review the list of websites and select the one that you want.
Step 2:
Preview layouts. You may need to select a category such as “Top 20 Downloads” to view layouts. Depending on the website, you may only need to scroll down the page. Some websites may require you to select layouts or profiles specific to MySpace.
Step 3:
Download layouts. Some websites will have a “Download” link next to the preview of the profile. If so, select “Download.” Other websites will have the code available in a text box located next to the sample of the layout.
Step 4:
Copy the code provided. Once you have found the code for the layout, you are ready to copy it. Place your cursor in the text box and click the right mouse button. Press “Select All.” With your cursor still in the text box, click the right mouse button again. Select “Copy.”
Inserting a Layout Into a Myspace Page
Step 1:
Log in to MySpace. If you are already a member of MySpace, now is the time to log in to your page. If you are not a member, you will need to join MySpace before you can continue.
Step 2:
Select the “Edit Profile” link. This should be the first link available to the right of your profile picture.
Step 3:
Click on the “About Me” box. If you have a description in this box, make sure that you click your cursor after the last word of your description. This will ensure that the code does not insert itself in the middle of your description.
Step 4:
Paste the code. With your cursor in the correct location, click on your right mouse button. Select “Paste.” This will transfer the layout code you have selected into your MySpace profile.
Step 5:
Select “Preview Profile.” This will allow you to view the page that you have created.
Step 6:
Finish your page. If you like what you see, select “Save All Changes.” You have now finished changing your page. Enjoy!

I was reading this story at CNN.com of how Bernie Peng, a financial programmer, decided to pop the big question to his girlfriend.
Marriage proposals are pretty hard to conjur up, and this one is genius. But what I love is the response from the game maker themselves, PopCap.
This the AP press story as written:
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Hiding a ring in a bouquet just wasn’t enough when a computer programmer decided to pop the question.
Bernie Peng reprogrammed Tammy Li’s favorite video game, “Bejeweled,” so a ring and a marriage proposal would show up on the screen when she reached a certain score.
Li reached the needed score — and said yes.
The word of the romantic feat last December filtered out after Peng, a financial software programmer, posted details on his blog. The reprogramming was a tricky task and took him a month.
“I thought it was pretty cool, in a nerdy way,” Peng told The Star-Ledger of Newark.
The couple plan to marry over Labor Day weekend, and PopCap, the Seattle company that makes “Bejeweled,” will fly the couple to Seattle as part of their honeymoon.
“Most video game companies would frown on people manipulating their games,” said Garth Chouteau, a spokesman for PopCap.
“But it won him a woman. As a bunch of geeks we have to say, ‘Bernie, hats off to you.’”
The company is also supplying copies of “Bejeweled” to hand out as favors to the wedding guests. In the hugely popular game, players score points by swapping gems to form vertical and horizontal chains.

I had a little project today where I had to locate all the hosts on a network and identify them. Most of the hosts weren’t workstations so it was not that easy.
I found a nifty little tool online to help me with that… FASTResolver.
FastResolver is a small utility that resolves multiple host names into IP addresses and vice versa. You can simply type the list of IP addresses or host name that you want to resolve, or alternatively, you can specify IP addresses range that you want to scan. FastResolver is a multithreaded application, so it can resolve dozens of addresses within a few seconds.
