Finding a Layout
Step 1:
Search for MySpace layouts. Using a search engine, search for the words “free MySpace layouts.” If you want something specific in your MySpace page, add that term to your search. Review the list of websites and select the one that you want.
Step 2:
Preview layouts. You may need to select a category such as “Top 20 Downloads” to view layouts. Depending on the website, you may only need to scroll down the page. Some websites may require you to select layouts or profiles specific to MySpace.
Step 3:
Download layouts. Some websites will have a “Download” link next to the preview of the profile. If so, select “Download.” Other websites will have the code available in a text box located next to the sample of the layout.
Step 4:
Copy the code provided. Once you have found the code for the layout, you are ready to copy it. Place your cursor in the text box and click the right mouse button. Press “Select All.” With your cursor still in the text box, click the right mouse button again. Select “Copy.”
Inserting a Layout Into a Myspace Page
Step 1:
Log in to MySpace. If you are already a member of MySpace, now is the time to log in to your page. If you are not a member, you will need to join MySpace before you can continue.
Step 2:
Select the “Edit Profile” link. This should be the first link available to the right of your profile picture.
Step 3:
Click on the “About Me” box. If you have a description in this box, make sure that you click your cursor after the last word of your description. This will ensure that the code does not insert itself in the middle of your description.
Step 4:
Paste the code. With your cursor in the correct location, click on your right mouse button. Select “Paste.” This will transfer the layout code you have selected into your MySpace profile.
Step 5:
Select “Preview Profile.” This will allow you to view the page that you have created.
Step 6:
Finish your page. If you like what you see, select “Save All Changes.” You have now finished changing your page. Enjoy!
