


We ran into an issue where a client was being constantly asked to clean her IBM VXA3 tape drive in order to perform her normal backups. I couldn’t figure out why Microsoft NTBackup was not working properly when attempting a scheduled backup. The client was using Symantec backup and even with the latest updates of the software it was a no go.
What triggered the search was the fact that 2 of our other clients were having the same exact issue. We looked on the IBM Support page and whoala!!!

We found a firmware update and the backups have been working like a charm ever since. Hope this helps!
