Sony’s new Monolithic Design concept for BRAVIA Televisions – find out more….
Sony unveiled the new Monolithic Design thinking behind its latest range of BRAVIA TVs at CES this year, and now that the TVs are making their way into shops across Europe, we’d like to give you some further insight into the thinking behind this unique set of designs. As well as the TVs becoming available in stores, this week sees the opening of an exhibition at Milano Salone del Mobile, entitled Contemplating Monolithic Design. Exclusively for this exhibition, Sony designers have worked with Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to explore, through conceptual archetypes, the extension and integration of electronics, with furniture and architectural design. Visitors are offered a glimpse of how pushing the boundaries of technology and design could shape the living room of the future. The concept of this new Monolithic Design, seeking only what is essential, leads us to consider the sense of presence that products bring to a space.
